ABOUT
A life built around hunting, shooting and fishing
My name is George. I grew up on our family farm in Norfolk, where I picked up fieldcraft from an early age — first with an air rifle, then a .243, and eventually stalking deer across some of the best ground in the country.
After graduating from Durham University, I spent six years in London as a management consultant. It wasn't for me. I packed up and moved to the Outer Hebrides to work as a professional deer stalker and fishing ghillie at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate. That's where I discovered how much I enjoyed guiding — watching a guest take their first Highland stag, or land a salmon they'd remember for twenty years.
I founded Griffin Sporting Club to share the best of British fieldsports with visiting hunters, delivered with care and in the traditional manner. To do this I have leases over land in the Scottish Highland as well as access to several estates in the English lowlands giving us access to all six species of deer found in the UK.

Our Story
Fieldsports runs deep in my roots. I grew up on our family farm in Norfolk, surrounded by some of the best lowland shooting in the country.
As soon as I could carry one, I picked up an air rifle and started chasing small game around the farm - rabbits, pigeons, you name it. I then moved on to a rimfire rifle at 16 (the UK age for that), focusing on rabbits and foxes, often shooting at night with a lamp.
My passion for hunting led me to start my first business, Precision Night Vision, when I was just 16. I designed, built, and sold night vision equipment to fellow hunters. I started out making the devices myself in my bedroom, using a 3D printer, then partnered with a manufacturer in China to produce units under the Precision Night Vision brand.
Between school and university, I was lucky enough to take a gap year. I spent six months in Southern Africa, working on farms and in a game park. One of the highlights was spending three months at a hunting conservancy in Zimbabwe, I got my first real taste of hunting big game. My weekly task was heading into the bush to hunt rations for the staff - a job I took to immediately.
Back in the UK, I quickly applied for a .243 rifle, which allowed me to hunt British deer. We’re fortunate enough to have three of the six UK deer species on our family farm, and I harvest around 20 animals a year sustainably. I learned how to butcher the venison myself, and I’ve been sharing well-prepared packages with friends and family ever since.
While at university, I made friends with others who shared my love for the outdoors. We’d swap days out in the field - from shooting high pheasants in Yorkshire to chasing Chinese Water Deer in Suffolk marshlands, and catching brown trout in the Highlands.
After university, I moved to London and spent six years in strategy and management consulting - advising financial clients on operations, growth, and market expansion. It taught me how to plan, execute, and run a business properly
Still, after six years in the city, I realised it wasn’t for me. I packed up my flat and moved to the Outer Hebrides to work as a deer stalker at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate. That’s where I fell in love with taking guests out on stalking trips. I met a lot of motivated people who encouraged me to start this business.
Today, I'm based back home in Norfolk, running Griffin Sporting Club full-time. I'd love to take you out and show you what British fieldsports are all about.
